A photo tribute is an easy way to include a loved one in your wedding celebrations.

Place the tribute around an object that was appropriate to them, like something they might’ve made or was a big part of their life, like a work hat, jacket or uniform, hobbie item, anything that was significant to them.

Find a piece of clothing of good quality fabric and cut and sew a heart-shaped piece of it into your wedding gown. This can be sewn on the inside or can look lovely on the outside of the gown.

If you have a small photo, cameo or locket of your loved one it could be added to the groom’s boutonniere.

Your bouquet goes everywhere with you throughout the ceremony and the reception, so you could wrap your bouquet in an old tie or handkerchief and keep your loved one close the whole time.

If your step father is the one to walk you down the aisle and give you away, he can carry a small photo of your loved father and include him when asked who gives permission for you to marry.

A wedding ring can make a beautiful piece of jewellery, such as a bracelet, that can then be worn over the course of the day. What a lovely way to feel close to your loved one and that they are a part of the event.

A kept hand-written note of love could be copied and placed as a part of each table decoration.

Ask for donations to a cause that was important to your loved one, in lieu of wedding gifts, or donate to a charity in lieu of wedding favours.

Save a seat at the wedding ceremony/reception and put a flower/photo/candle/prized possession in place. Such a lovely way to know your loved one has a front row seat for your occasion.

A framed photo could be included on the registry table, so you can feel that your loved one is a part of the signing of the paperwork.
